At least one of two long-vacant businesses at the Oconto Falls northwest city limits is coming back to life. Ben Holtger recently bought the former Mobil station and convenience store at 710 County Road B at a sheriff’s sale. He told the Oconto Falls City Council at its May 13 meeting that he’s been busy clearing up liens and judgments on the property. “I’ve been working on cleaning up,” he said.

The Oconto Falls Board of Education reelected its officers during its annual reorganization meeting May 12. A Seymour principal with 25 years of experience has been named the new principal of Gillett Elementary School. Amy McKeefry is expected to officially begin her new role on July 1, succeeding Curt Angeli, who is retiring after 35 years in the Gillett School District, the last 11 as elementary prinicpal.
