Wittenberg launches comprehensive plan survey

Subhead
Input will shape community’s next 20 years

Wittenberg residents, business owners and local workers are invited to share their feedback by completing s community survey to kick off the update to the village’s comprehensive plan.

The plan is a long-range blueprint designed to guide the village’s future for the next 20 years.

The plan will also help shape a long-term vision for the village’s parks, trails and recreational spaces, alongside land use, housing, transportation, infrastructure and the preservation of natural resources. It establishes a shared vision and sets actionable policies for land use, housing, transportation, economic development, infrastructure, and the preservation of natural resources.

The village is also concurrently updating its comprehensive outdoor recreation plan, which guides planning for parks, trails and recreational facilities and keeps the village eligible for Wisconsin DNR Stewardship grant funding. Residents are encouraged to weigh in on both efforts, as they will work hand-in-hand to shape the village’s future.

“The comprehensive plan is built entirely on our community’s vision, and all voices matter in shaping it,” said William Switalla, village president. “Broad participation ensures our future policies and strategies reflect the true priorities of the people we serve. We want to hear directly from you about what makes Wittenberg special and where we can grow or improve.”

Feedback collected will directly influence village officials and planners as they draft both plans.

The community survey is completely anonymous and open now through Oct. 9 at https://villageofwittenberg.com.

Paper copies are available at the Wittenberg Community Center, 208 W. Vinal St., Wittenberg; and Homme Home, 604 S. Webb St., Wittenberg.
