• Sara J. Scimemi, 38, Lena, pleaded no contest May 13 to misstating facts in a food stamp application. Under the terms of a deferred judgment agreement, Judge Jay Conley accepted the plea and withheld any sentence or any finding of guilt, suspending the case for a period not to exceed two years.
• Ronnie R. Collins, 52, Oconto Falls, was charged May 13 with child abuse intentionally causing harm, strangulation and suffocation and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. Conley set a $5,000 cash bond and adjourned his initial appearance until May 22.
• Chris K. Van Der Steen, 58, Gillett, was charged May 13 with possession of a firearm by a person committed for treatment with an order not to possess firearms. Conley set a $2,500 signature bond and adjourned his initial appearance until May 22.
