Cruisers Yachts, a leading manufacturer of luxury yachts, recently announced key leadership appointments as the company continues to strengthen its position in the marine industry. Matt VanGrunsven has been named director of business development, while Sarah Long has been appointed director of marketing. VanGrunsven will focus on expanding dealer and industry relationships, identifying new growth opportunities and driving strategic initiatives.

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood School Board approved applications May 19 for 21 new students from outside the school district to come to local schools through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction open enrollment program. Currently, the district has 179 students coming into the district from other places in the state.

Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative (CWEC) has been awarded almost $1.3 million in grants as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, also known as the bipartisan infrastructure law. CWEC had originally applied for the grants in February 2024, and was previously notified that it would be awarded the two grants.

The Schairer farm shop in Birnamwood was built for equipment but became a place of worship May 11. St. John’s Lutheran Church held its second annual Church on the Farm service on Mother’s Day. The Rick Lettau Family Band came out of retirement to provide the polka music. It had everyone tapping their feet and singing along.
