Lois Marie Bleser, 80, passed away at her home on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, surrounded by her family. Lois was born on Nov. 4, 1943, in Mukwonago to the late Clinton and Marietta (Jones) Liddicoat. On April 1, 1989, she was united in marriage to James “Jim” Bleser in Cecil. Lois and Jim enjoyed living on Shawano Lake and spending winters in Florida. Lois was a wonderful and loving woman and was well liked by everyone she met.

Looking ahead to the 2024 event, planned for Aug. 28 to Sept. 2, fair organizers are already creating some fun, leading up to and during the fair itself. Area residents are invited to paint a fair-themed rock (one or more). All submissions will be posted online around Aug. 1.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is celebrating a successful elk hunting season. The state’s sixth elk hunting season opened Oct. 14 and closed Nov. 12, as a result of all four state licensed hunters filling their harvest authorizations. The four hunters who participated in this year’s hunt were selected at random from a pool of 21,312 Wisconsin resident applicants.
