Creativity will be key for Packers against Lions
It wasn’t a running back that led the team in rushing last week; rather, it was rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed, who recorded 46 yards on three carries in Green Bay’s Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. As the Packers lost running backs Aaron Jones and Emanuel Wilson, fans may see a little bit more of Reed (or others) running the ball against Detroit.
Notebook (at Lions)
Packers’ offense vs. Lions’ defense The Packers’ offense has been a mixed bag throughout the course of the season. That was to be expected with as many young players as they’ve been relying on. The number of young players has grown since the last time these two teams played.
Clifford always ready to step up if necessary
Backup quarterback Sean Clifford played college football at Penn State. He was the starting quarterback and team captain for the Nittany Lions from 2019-22. What’s a week look like with limited to no reps? It’s a lot of mental preparation. I’m taking all the scout team reps, but sometimes the card is a completely different concept that you just have never seen before, and it’s something specific for the defense.
Salute to Service Month special for Watson
Wide receiver Christian Watson played college football at North Dakota State and was selected by the Packers in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. What’s the significance behind the tattoo? My specific tattoo is a tribute to my great-grandfather. Growing up, I was really close with him, and he passed away when I was young. I did a lot of things with him. Hanging out with him, he loved golfing, so we’d go golfing.
