LETTER: Math doesn’t add up for turf field at SCHS
To the editor: The recent article about the Shawano School Board’s consideration of passing artificial turf construction costs to taxpayers contained some math that I found interesting. Such a field, according to the consultant, would cost $950,000 upfront and about $1,500,000 over 15 years. Using the consultant’s projected maintenance costs of $2,500 to $5,000 annually, that $75,000 at most would total $1,025,000.
FSA seeks candidates for county committees
Nominations are now being accepted for farmers and ranchers to serve on local U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committees. These committees make important decisions about how federal farm programs are administered locally. All nomination forms for the 2024 election must be postmarked or received in the local FSA office by Aug.
Prevea Health gets new chief medical officer
Prevea Health has announced the appointment of Dr. Paul Pritchard as senior vice president and chief medical officer following a nationwide search. Pritchard has been a part of the Prevea family for 25 years, first as an internal medicine physician and then serving in various leadership roles including chairman of the department of internal medicine, associate director of quality for primary care and medical director of quality.
Dennis ‘Mitch’ Michaels
Dennis “Mitch” Michaels, 80, Breed, peacefully passed Saturday, June 15, 2024, with his family by his side in Green Bay. Dennis “Mitch,” son of Fred and Beatrice (Tracey) Michaels, was born on Nov. 6, 1943, in Harvey, Illinois. He grew up in Oconto Falls where he graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1961. Dennis “Mitch” moved to Milwaukee following high school. He owned and renovated rental properties and had his own construction business.
