The Oconto County School Supply Drive Inc. (OCSSD) is holding its fifth annual “Stuff the Bus” kickoff event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 22 at Thompson’s County Market in Oconto. Volunteers will be serving brats and burgers in the supermarket’s Coke Shack. OCSSD formed in January 2020 and to date has provided 1,155 backpacks full of school supplies to area students.

As summer begins, scientists at Marshfield Clinic Research Institute are asking the public to submit ticks for the Tick Inventory via Citizen Science (TICS). TICS was launched in April to survey the distribution of tick species in Wisconsin, including any new, invasive ticks that may be moving into the state.
