Tournament powerhouse Shawano made a statement Friday at the Shawano Youth League 9U baseball tournament at Memorial Field. The team, which outscored its opponents 52-3 in four games to win a recent tourney in Stevens Point, defeated Rapids Rage 10-0 in five innings. In other action, the Shawano Black 10U squad ended its game against Central Wisconsin tied 2-2.

Costly errors were too much for the Shawano Lobos to overcome in a 10-8 loss to Hofa Park in the championship game of the 23rd annual Lobos tournament Friday in Shawano. A Shawano error in the seventh inning helped Matt Zittlow score the go-ahead run, 9-8, on a Taylor Noe single.

With the win, the Lobos advanced to the tournament’s championship game at 8:30 p.m. Friday against Hofa Park, which defeated Pulaski 11-1 Wednesday. Arthur “Art” William Zoglman, 87, of Clintonville, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, in Neenah. Born on Nov. 21, 1927, in Shawano, he was the son of the late John and Emma (Koeller) Zoglman. Art served in the United States Army during World War II. On April 11, 1970, Art was united in marriage to Judith Radmann in Clintonville. He was the past president of the Wisconsin Game Bird Association.

Larry W. Adams, 68, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, in Shawano. Born on March 6, 1947, in Shawano, he was the son of the late Wallace Adams and Laverne (Krumm) Baldwin. Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On May 10, 1969, in Manitowoc, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Schmidt. They lived in Manitowoc until 1989, when they moved to Shawano.
