Ellen Emma Martha Stueck, 91, of La Crosse, formerly from Shawano, passed away July 17, 2015. Ellen was born on Jan. 11, 1924, in the town of Alma to Otto and Emma (Loehrl) Strelow. She grew up on a farm near Bowler. On May 27, 1944, Ellen was united in marriage to Lloyd Stueck. After spending a brief time traveling with her husband, who was in the Army, they moved to Milwaukee and then settled in a home in Mequon.

Three passers-by who stopped to render aid are being credited with saving the life of a Shawano man seriously injured Friday when his motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck in the town of Belle Plaine. Rita Marie Rosin, 65, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in Appleton. Born in Shawano on Sept. 18, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Jeanette (Johnson) Stronach. She graduated from Shawano High School and then went on to graduate from the Bellin lab tech program. On May 10, 1969, in Shawano, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Rosin.

A Shawano County swine producer has agreed to a civil forfeiture for impeding an investigation related to feeding carcasses to her swine, a practice that can lead to the development of severe animal health diseases such as Foot and Mouth Disease. In a plea agreement, Wendy J. King, of Birnamwood, accepted a plea of no contest for obstructing an investigation.
