Olivia Sprangers and Madden Skenandore each captured a first-place finish for Pulaski on March 26 at the Red Hawk Challenge in Ripon. Sprangers placed first in the 200-meter dash, and teammate Anna Friedman was 10th.

The next gunless poultry shoot for American Legion Post 44 will be at 1 p.m. April 20 at Everbreeze Resort, 13755 Lake Shore Lane, Mountain. Proceedings of March 25 • Bradd K. Steeno, 53, Green Bay, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fourth offense), and misdemeanor resisting or obstructing an officer in connection with an incident that occurred Oct. 10, 2020. Judge Michael Judge withheld sentencing and placed Steeno on two years of probation with conditions beginning with 10 months in the county jail.

The Shawano Park and Recreation Department will be pursuing a grant that, if received, should make some improvements on and possibly expand the Shawano Recreation Center. Recreation director Matt Hendricks told the park and recreation commission that there are federal grants coming to Wisconsin geared toward providing high-speed internet to recreation centers, public libraries and other public spaces.

The Oconto Falls woman who shot and wounded a police officer in August 2021 has withdrawn her plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, ending the need for a trial that would have started April 1.
