Wittenberg-Birnamwood scored 98.5 points and placed fourth at the Bluejay Indoor Invitational in Merrill on March 28.
The Chargers won four events, placed second in another and racked up several top-10 spots. Rhinelander won the event with 105 points, followed by Merrill with 100 and Rib Lake with 99.5.
The Chargers won the 4x765-meter relay, the 4x228-meter relay and the 4x380-meter relay.
Freshman Harper Rogowski won the 400-meter dash with freshman Ava Brei taking third.
In the 800-meter run, freshman Gabrielle Timm captured second, and freshman Charlie Eichman was fifth.
Freshman Kelsie Davis placed third in the shot put.
Brei was third in the high jump and fourth in the 200-meter dash.
Freshman Lily Metropulos was third in the triple jump, and Rogowski was sixth.
A Charger foursome placed fourth in the 4x152-meter relay.
In the long jump, freshman Kaitlin Tushkowski placed fifth and junior Jayden Zeinert was seventh.
Davis finished sixth and Zeinert was eighth in the 50-meter hurdles.
Boys events
Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s boys collected 16 points and finished in sixth place.
Sophomore Mason Wierzba had the best finish for the Chargers, placing second in the shot put.
In the long jump, junior Michael Gunter placed sixth. He was also sixth in the 50-meter dash.
Gunter finished in seventh in the 200-meter dash.
