Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have detected a suite of new viruses in five species of Wisconsin sport fish.
Although none pose a threat to human health, one is a type of coronavirus usually associated with birds.

However, adjusting production for the additional day due to the leap year causes February milk production to be up 1% on a per day basis.
Wisconsin egg production during February 2024 was 182 million eggs, up 9% from the previous February, according to the latest Chickens and Eggs report from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
The average number of all layers on hand during February 2024 was 7.49 million, up 6% from last year.
