June M. DuFrane, 87, of Clintonville, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Bethany Home, Waupaca. She was born on June 23, 1927, in the town of Pella, Shawano County, the daughter of the late Paul C. and Adelia (Dordel) Gruetzmacher Sr. June was raised in the Embarrass area. On April 18, 1953, June married Edward DuFrane at the United Methodist Church, Clintonville. The couple had lived in Clintonville all of their married life.

Mary Lorenz Burns, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2014, at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Born in Shawano, she had lived in Cranford, New Jersey, for many years before moving to Yardley, Pennsylvania, seven years ago. Mary received a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology and worked as a sweater designer for Oak Hill in New York.

Melvin G. Sovinski
Melvin George Sovinski, May 27, 1926-July 6, 2014. Never without an appointment notebook in his breast pocket and a carpenter’s ruler in his pant pocket, Melvin was a man who fulfilled many roles in his 88 years. He was first a son and brother, then a student attending 13 elementary schools before finalizing his days at Suring High School. He served in Korea before working for Milwaukee Foundry and then became a union carpenter.
Rob Holman
Rob Holman, 42, Stiles, died suddenly Monday evening, July 7, 2014, at home from complications with muscular dystrophy. He was born Sept. 16, 1971, in Oconto Falls to Tom and Penny (Owen) Holman. Rob grew up in Oconto Falls, where he attended public schools and graduated with honors from high school with the Class of 1989.

Arnold Martin
Arnold “Arnie” Martin, 94, of Oconto Falls, was called home to eternal life on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Arnold was born Aug. 24, 1919, to the late Gottlieb and Matilda (Zellmer) Martin in the town of Gillett. He was a graduate of Oconto Falls High School and served with the U.S. Air Force in England and France during World War II. Wrestling makes debut at Brazeau picnic
The Brazeau Emergency Services annual fundraiser picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Klondike ball field, 8162 County Road Z, Pound. The event will feature activities for all ages, including games, bounce houses, raffles and the Eagle III helicopter. Good Ole Country will perform from 1-5 p.m.
Joseph Hyland
Joseph “Reub” Hyland, 85, Oconto Falls, died peacefully Saturday evening, July 12, 2014, at home with his family present. He was born March 21, 1929, in Kingsford, Michigan, to Joseph A. and Caroline (Marik) Hyland. Joe attended Kingsford public schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1947. On March 22, 1951, he married Arlene Secrist. Joe served in the U.S. Army and was engaged in combat during the Korean War.
