Gillett adopts 1:1 technology plan

The Gillett School Board on Thursday adopted a two-year roll-out of a 1:1 technology plan that will put a Chromebook or iPad in the hands of every student by the 2016-17 school year. City adopts e-cigarette ordinances
The city of Oconto Falls tightened its tobacco products ordinance in response to reports of electronic cigarettes at local schools this winter and issued its first citation Thursday. The City Council on March 10 adopted ordinances that prohibit minors from possessing e-cigarettes and related paraphernalia on school grounds and misrepresenting their age in an attempt to purchase the items locally. County Board curtails chairman’s pay
The Oconto County Board on Thursday adopted a more restrictive compensation policy for its County Board chairman, scheduled to take effect this month. Supervisors, with a 25-5 vote, eliminated the supplemental compensation the chairman receives for attending various events, seminars, banquets and ceremonies.

Bellin to break ground on new Oconto Falls clinic
Bellin Health will hold a groundbreaking event from 3-4 p.m. Thursday, March 26, to celebrate construction of its new Oconto Falls clinic. Peters Concrete submits low bid for street project
Peters Concrete Company is the apparent low bidder for the state Highway 22 project scheduled to begin this spring in Oconto Falls. The Green Bay company submitted a bid of $3,945,104, according to the state Department of Transportation, which opened bids March 10.

Deadline extended for farm bill programs
A one-time extension will be provided to producers for the new safety-net programs established by the 2014 farm bill, known as Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC). The final day to update yield history or reallocate base acres has been extended one month, from Feb. 27 to March 31.
