Peters Concrete Company is the apparent low bidder for the state Highway 22 project scheduled to begin this spring in Oconto Falls.
The Green Bay company submitted a bid of $3,945,104, according to the state Department of Transportation, which opened bids March 10. The DOT uses a low bid system for selecting and awarding contracts.
City Administrator Vicki Roberts said in her March 10 report to the City Council it might take six weeks before a contact is signed.
The 1.6-mile street project will include new pavement, street lights, curb and gutter, and sidewalks. The boundaries of the project are West Highland Drive to East Highland Drive.
The work will be divided into two main segments: pavement repair from West Highland Drive to Cherry Avenue and a full reconstruction from Cherry Avenue to East Highland Drive.
According to the DOT, traffic will be detoured for the duration of the project, scheduled to begin in late April and end in late October.
