• Shaelynn M. Peters, 33, Keshena, pleaded no contest Aug. 24 to fleeing an officer in her vehicle, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor charges of resisting or failing to stop and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. Judge William Kussel Jr. levied fines and court costs and sentenced her to one year in county jail, time deemed served.

• Jessica J. Baxter, 29, a Black Creek woman serving a sentence at Taycheedah Correctional Institution, pleaded no contest June 23 to possession of methamphetamine. Judge Jay Conley sentenced her Aug. 31 to three years in prison followed by two years of extended supervision with conditions.

“Wisconsin Foodie” host and James Beard Award nominee Luke Zahm will be at the Shawano County Library’s main branch to talk about all things local food and his experiences as the host of the popular PBS show.

He will be at the library, 128 S. Sawyer St., Shawano, at 6 p.m. Sept. 23.

The city of Shawano’s agreement with Shawano Ambulance Service is changing its terms after 33 years of providing medical transport for local residents.

The changes are coming at the request of Pat Trinko, the service’s executive director. In a letter to City Clerk Lesley Nemetz, Trinko noted the agreement only has a few adjustments that need to be made at the recommendation of the ambulance service’s attorney.
