Tim Reed, Shawano County’s former planning and development director, has filed a grievance with the county over his firing. Reed was terminated from his post in December. Administrative Coordinator Brent Miller on Wednesday confirmed the grievance had been filed, but said he couldn’t divulge what Reed was seeking, whether it was a settlement or reinstatement, because it was a personnel issue. Shawano County Jail Administrator Steve Borroughs is no longer with the county after what the county says was his decision Tuesday to retire suddenly. “It was his decision and it became a mutual agreement,” County Administrative Coordinator Brent Miller said. Miller said Borroughs informed him Tuesday of his retirement, which was effective immediately.

Jerome L. “Jerry” Goetsch, 71, Cecil, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born on Feb. 28, 1943, in Sheboygan to Elmer and Esther (Sukowatey) Goetsch. Jerry attended Central High School in Sheboygan. On Jan. 11, 1964, Jerry was united in marriage to Elaine Ploeckelmann. For 10 years they made their home together in Southern California, where they started their family.

Shirley Mae Pederson-Aschenbrenner, 84, of Leopolis, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, in Shawano. Shirley was born in Oconto County on July 30, 1930, the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Luebke) Moore. On March 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Orlin G. Pederson in Little Suamico. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1989. On Feb. 1, 1997, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Aschenbrenner in Leopolis.

Earl E. Wussow, 83, of Cecil, passed away at his home on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. Earl was born on March 5, 1931, in Rhinelander, the son of the late Edward and Lorraine (Kaste) Wussow. He enlisted in the military and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On April 23, 1955, Earl was united in marriage to Rogene LeNoble in Clintonville.
