Packers list Rodgers, Lacy as probable

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and running back Eddie Lacy were listed as probable on the injury report Friday for this weekend’s NFC title game against the Seattle Seahawks. Rodgers has been limited this week in practice with a lingering left calf injury. “It’s painful. There’s stiffness involved. There’s constant, around-the-clock treatment,” Rodgers said Friday.

BOYS BASKETBALL Shawano 71 Oconto Falls 40 Twelve players scored and two reached double figures for Shawano in its Bay Conference road victory Friday. Shawano (10-2, 5-2 Bay) took command early, outscoring the Panthers 19-6 in the first period and leading 40-11 at halftime. Braden Mueller hit a team-high 14 points for the Hawks, and Jack Lacy contributed 10 points and five rebounds. Michael Manns led Oconto Falls (2-8, 0-7 Bay) with 14 points.
Shawano gets 1st Bay win over Panthers
Courtney Vomastic’s back-to-back 3-point shots were the jolt the Shawano Community High School girls needed Friday. The 5-foot-10 senior’s shots gave the Hawks an 18-11 lead late in the first half, and the Hawks went on to post a 40-30 win over visiting Oconto Falls.

Shawano buries the Hatchets
Shawano Community High School defeated visiting Tomahawk Thursday 122-48 in a Division 3 swimming match. The Hawks finished first in all 11 events including two from Jake Klister and Zach Soper in individual events. Klister took a top finish in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events and Soper received his top placement in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke. MLK celebration has musical theme
First Presbyterian Church in Shawano will hold its 12th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day community celebration Monday. “Music for the Journey” will feature five musicians sharing the music that inspires them. “We have not done a musical theme for Martin Luther King Day,” Pastor Susan Phillips said.
Man dies in Green Valley fire
Shawano County authorities said in a Facebook posting Thursday that a man was found dead in the wreckage of a house fire in Green Valley. The name and age of the man were not provided. The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department kept Facebook readers apprised of the fire for most of the day Thursday, but no news release was issued by press time and no officers were available to comment. Gas leak in Clintonville forces evacuation
A ruptured gas line forced Clintonville authorities to evacuate and seal off streets in the area of the leak Thursday morning. Police and fire authorities were notified of a ruptured natural gas line under the street at a construction site at Main and East 12th streets about 9:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Clintonville Police Department. Authorities immediately sealed off and evacuated the area in the vicinity of the leak.
