All Menards home improvement stores are once again serving as drop sites for a toy drive. There is a drop box near each exit door that serves as a collection site for new and untapped presents now through the end of November. Also, a tradition for more than 50 years is the Enchanted Forest at Menards. People of all ages can walk through the decorated trees, colorful lights and displays of Christmas decor the make up the Enchanted Forest.

• Manih F. Waupoose, 37, Neopit, pleaded no contest Nov. 11 to felony bail jumping and a misdemeanor count of operating while revoked. Judge Katherine Sloma levied fines and court costs and sentenced him to 60 days in county jail. • Brandon L. Women of all ages are invited to an annual Christmas Tea, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium at Hillside Assembly of God, 5890 State Highway 22, Gillett. This year the church’s Mpact girls clubs will be hosting and leading folks in Christmas carols and also doing a skit. Guests are encourage to bring in their favorite Christmas finger food or dessert. The church will be providing sandwiches and veggies. Reservations are required.

With a bit of emotion and a show of gratitude, the Oconto Falls School Board on Nov.

The Oconto Falls School Board on Nov. 11 approved spending up to $20,000 to get the planning process off the ground for new baseball fields on the campus of the new Oconto Falls Middle School. The board voted unanimously to contract with the civil engineering firm Point of Beginning Inc. to design the baseball facility. In October, the organization Trent Maloney Memorial Inc.

The dominoes seemed in place for, if not a Democratic win, at least a close race. The 8th Congressional District was open after the popular incumbent retired. The Republican candidate was a political novice who struggled to fundraise.
