Daniel G. Lyons, 72, Green Bay (formerly Kelly Lake), passed away at home Oct. 13, 2024. Dan peacefully began his next journey in the company of his dearest friends Ben, Lynne and Peter. Dan was born Dec.

An Oconto man was sentenced Dec. 11 to 18 years in prison for the sexual assault of a girl who said he molested her regularly from the time she was 8 years old until she was 14. David SanRoman, 41, was given credit for the 1,561 days already spent in the Oconto County Jail since his arrest, so the sentence is more or less equivalent to the 15 years in prison that Oconto County District Attorney Hannah Schuchart recommended.

A 15-year-old Lakewood boy was killed Dec. 7 in an all-terrain vehicle accident. The victim was identified in his obituary as Clark L. Lightfoot, a sophomore at Wabeno High School whose family moved to Lakewood from Pulaski last summer. Oconto County Sheriff Todd Skarban said in a news release that his office’s emergency dispatch center was notified at about 8:17 p.m.

Two men in their 20s died in a one-vehicle crash in the Town of Lessor on Dec. 14, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department. At about 4:16 a.m., a caller notified the sheriff’s office of a crash on Landstad Road near Frazer Corner. Deputies found the pickup truck severely damaged and then two deceased men.
