Former Shawano resident Susan Gordon, now living in Olympia, Washington, visited Heather’s Beans and Books in Shawano on July 30 to sign copies of her historical fiction book about the 1871 Peshtigo Fire, “Conflagration: How Love and Courage Survived America’s Deadliest Fire.” She also appeared at the Aug. 2 ice cream social at the Peshtigo Fire Museum and Aug. 3 at the Peshtigo Public Library. Her book is available at Beans and Books, Amazon, Barnes and Noble and elsewhere. Most booksellers will also order the book upon request.
