Bonduel clerk retires after 16 years at Village Hall

After more than 16 years as Bonduel’s village clerk, Barb Wickman will retire, effective May 16, to spend more time with her family. “I have a great-granddaughter I will be babysitting,” Wickman said.
Students explore sturgeon history

City looking at possible landfill expansion
City officials Wednesday approved a $10,000 contract with a consulting firm to study the feasibility of expanding the Shawano landfill. The Common Council unanimously approved Foth Infrastructure and Environment LLC for the work.
Hawks doubles players aim for state

New contractor will be cleaning Shawano schools
Shawano School Board members voted Monday to pay $63,000 more annually for cleaner schools. GCA Services won the school district’s contract for cleaning services for 2013-14 with a bid of $447,000.

Olga Brener Intermediate School Lynn Trochil, a fourth-grade teacher at Olga Brener, implemented the use of TenMarks in her classroom. TenMarks is a virtual teacher’s aid based on the Common Core State Standards, making the CCSS both accessible and engaging while improving student success. Her students participated in a six-week math competition called Math Madness.

Shawano 6, Hortonville 4> The Shawano Lobos opened Dairyland League play with a 6-4 win over the Hortonville Stars on Sunday in Shawano. Lucas Postl hit a two-RBI single in the seventh to break the 4-4 tie. Eric Stenson earned the win, pitching seven innings in relief of Will Kuchelmeister. Stenson struck out nine, walked one, and gave up six hits and no runs.
