A woman, 21, and man, 22, at a Jackson Street residence were taken into custody Aug. 7 on outstanding warrants from outside the county. An employee of Missoula Children’s Theater reported the theft of a duffel bag from the back of a truck. The bag contained “Wiz of the West” T-shirts valued at $400. U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency announced that the Farm Storage Facility Loan program, which provides low-interest financing to producers to build or upgrade storage facilities, will now include dairy, flowers and meats as eligible commodities. “For 15 years, this program has provided affordable financing, allowing American farmers and ranchers to construct or expand storage on the farm,” FSA Administrator Val Dolcini said.

University of Wisconsin-Extension of Marinette, Oconto and Florence counties will provide an opportunity for corn silage producers to test their corn’s whole-plant moisture percentage. Area producers are invited to participate in sample collection days on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and Oct. 6, at various locations.

Oconto County will begin collecting $50 from individuals picked up on outstanding warrants and transported to the Oconto County Jail from outside the county. The Oconto County Board on Thursday amended its jail facility fees, which included the new transportation fee. Jail Administrator Carol Kopp said other counties in the state already charge for transportation, sometimes setting a per-mile rate.

Open records revealed vague reasoning to terminate Mr. Thompson. Does the school district do computer audits on all staff or just Mr. Thompson?
