The Oconto Falls American Legion selected Jacob Dorn and Sean Senn as the 2015 representatives to the 74th session of Badger Boys State. FOOTBALL Gillett 67, Elcho/White Lake 0 Brett Milhans scored five touchdowns in the first half and tallied 99 rushing yards on 10 carries as Gillett won its home opener Friday. Leeland Kahler rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns and had a 40-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter.

The Oconto Falls High School football team opened its North Eastern Conference season Friday night against Luxemburg-Casco, an old Bay Conference rival. Even with a move to the new conference, nothing has changed when it comes to the Spartans’ dominance. L-C drubbed the Panthers 55-0 to close last season.

WEST DIVISION TIGERTON 2, LITTLE FALLS 1 Dylan Berg singled home Eric Gendusa with the go-ahead run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Tigers won a pitching duel. Little Falls took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on three hits and a catcher’s interference call.

The last few weeks at Shawano Speedway have made for interesting racing, as the drivers are fighting to move up the feature point standings. Tim Buhler scored his first Late Model win at Shawano Speedway since Aug. 4, 2007, Saturday, and Jerry Wilinski won his fourth straight and sixth overall IMCA Modified feature, while Travis VanStraten won his 13th IMCA Stock Car feature. Wyatt Block won his third IMCA Sport Mod feature.

Marilyn Kathryn Barnett, 85, Green Bay, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2015. Marilyn was born July 6, 1930, to the late Joseph and Alice (Hohn) Dillenburg in Belle Plaine in Shawano County. She attended Beversdorf Grade School, graduated from Shawano High School in 1948 and completed nurse’s training at St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Wausau in 1951. Marilyn met her beloved husband, James A.

Russell Jerry Hudson, 78, of Bonduel, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at his home. Russell was born on Aug. 24, 1936, in the town of Morgan to the late John and Anna (Updenkelder) Hudson. On June 26, 1965, Russell was united in marriage to Carol Gueller at St. John Lutheran Church in the town of Green Valley. He lived most of his life in this area. Russell was a heavy equipment operator.

Cheyenne Rae “Cheygirl” Hill, 18, Green Bay, her mother and father’s little angel, went to heaven unexpectedly on Aug. 21, 2015. Born on Oct. 11, 1996, in Green Bay, she is the daughter of John and Billie Jo (Sonnenberg) Hill. Cheyenne was a 2015 graduate of Green Bay Preble, and she had aspirations of attending beauty school in the fall. She worked as a manager at Firehouse Subs, where she relished the relationships with her employees.

Edward D. Peterman Jr., 88, Pulaski, died peacefully Saturday morning, Aug. 22, 2015, at his home. The son of Edward and Anna (Kleeman) Peterman Sr. was born May 31, 1927, at home in Zachow and was a graduate of Pulaski High School. On June 16, 1951, Ed married Darlyn Ringel at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stony Hill. He was a dairy farmer in the town of Angelica for many years.
