May 29 Bonduel 2, Oconto 0 Bonduel won the regional title in a pitchers dual between a pair of freshmen with a 2-0 win over Oconto. May 27 Bonduel 7, Iola-Scandinavia 1 Bonduel won the completion of a suspended game against Iola-Scandinavia 7-1. Cade Johnson threw a complete game victory scattering four hits and allowing one run while walking two and striking out 11. The Bears scored in all but one inning and were led at the plate by Joe Felhofer with two hits and two RBIs.
Bears, Chargers advance to regional title games
May 28 Bonduel 10, Shiocton 0 Bonduel defeated Shiocton 10-0 in six innings to advance in WIAA regional action. Bonduel scored two runs in the first inning and one more in the third to take a 3-0 lead. A four-run fifth inning and three runs in sixth inning broke the game open. Tatum Sporisky was 4-for-4, scored four runs and drove in another. Jayla Reinke was 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs.

Kristin Timm returns home from Alaska to address grads
It’s a long way from Wittenberg to Fairbanks, Alaska. For Kristin Timm, that journey was long, unexpected and fulfilling. She returned to her alma mater Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School on May 23 to address the Class of 2025 and accept the school district’s Distinguished Alumni Award. Timm graduated from the school in 2000.
Damrau joins Marshfield Clinic in Wittenberg
Amber Damrau, family medicine nurse practitioner, is now seeing patients at Marshfield Clinic Wittenberg Center. She joins nurse practitioner Ali Schmutzler, who also has a practice there. Damrau has nearly 20 years of experience in health care.
Oconto County Historical Society plans annual pie, ice cream, junque sale
The Oconto County Historical Society will host its annual pie and ice cream social and elegant junque sale from noon to 3 p.m. June 8 at the Beyer Home & Carriage Museum, 915 Park Ave., Oconto. “Elegant junque” means slightly used (or new) items donated for sale.

City develops 5-year public works plan
The city of Shawano has a five-year public works capital improvement project plan, even though it is subject to change, according to Mike Mahloch, public works director. The plan lists street projects between now and 2029 that are estimated to total almost $7.2 million. This year alone includes projects estimated at $868,500.
