American Legion presents 50-year membership award

Grayson Engel and Ava Herrmann are the new youth spokespeople for Twig’s Beverage for the next year after being announced as the big winners of the Golden Boy and Girl Contest during Sun Drop Dayz on June 7. 2 dead in fatal crash on County BE
Two people are dead following a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Waukechon on County Road BE on June 6. Multiple 911 calls came in at about 1:30 p.m. reporting a crash at the intersection of County Road BE and County Road B. The preliminary investigation indicates that a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on County Road BE when an SUV attempted to turn west onto County Road BE from County Road B.

CMN official says federal education cuts could destroy some tribal colleges

• Elizabeth M. Singh, 43, Antigo, pleaded no contest June 3 to a misdemeanor count of theft of movable property. The charge was amended from a felony in a plea agreement. Judge William Kussel Jr. assessed forfeitures of $589. • Kussel granted a defense motion June 3 and dismissed a 2023 case against Todd A. Sperberg, 57, Bowler.
