State’s 2024 honey crop value down 9% from previous year
Honey production from producers with five or more colonies in Wisconsin totaled 2.51 million pounds in 2024, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Honey report. This was 10% lower than the 2.79 million pounds produced in 2023.
Egg hunt, breakfast planned for Easter weekend
Hillside Assembly in Gillett is inviting the community to an Easter egg hunt and breakfast on Easter weekend. The church will hold its Easter Eggstravaganza at 10 a.m. April 19 at Hillside Assembly, 5890 State Highway 22, Gillett. All registration is online at www.hillsideassembly.com/egghunt. Kids will win candy while playing the carnival style games; bags will be provided.
Chargers, Bears, Hawks all earn podium finishes
April 10 Girls Warrior Invitational Wittenberg-Birnamwood captured five firsts and four more podium finishes at Wausau West. Winning the gold were Harper Rogowski in the 400-meter dash in 1:08.75, Nora Bushman in the 3,200-meter run in 13:02.08, the 4x400-meter relay team in 4:43.89, and Faith Resch in the long jump at 16-7.5 and the triple jump at 35-3.25.
