Veronica Kopatz

Veronica “Ronnie” Kopatz (Angus, McDermid), 65, Oconto Falls, loving daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, grandmother and friend lost her courageous 17-month battle with ovarian cancer on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at home surrounded by family. Ronnie was born Aug. 21, 1956, in Green Bay to Violet and the late Neil McDermid. Ronnie attended St. Anthony’s School, Oconto Falls Junior High and graduated with the Oconto Falls High School Class of 1974.

Roberta Jo Nelson
In loving memory of Roberta Jo Nelson (Bobbi Jo), born May 7, 1974; she was taken from those who loved her way too soon, at the age of 47. She was called home by her son, mother, mother-in-law and father-in-law on Dec. 10, 2021. She was taken from her loving husband of 28 years, along with KimberLee, AshLee, Jaysen and Rhyon. Also missing her greatly are her grandchildren Kayden, AmberLee and Trenton.

Cynthia L. Gast
Cynthia L. Gast, 61, of Wittenberg, died on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, at Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. Cynthia was born on Feb. 20, 1960, in Wausau, the daughter of Raymond and Verlette (Brandenburg) Marquardt Sr. On July 6, 1991, Cynthia was united in marriage to Dennis Gast at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau. Cynthia worked at local restaurants as a cook and worked at Copps in Antigo.

Rose Elizabeth Schardt, 93, died of her injuries and complications at Mayo Clinic Hospitals, St. Mary’s campus, on Nov. 24, 2021, in Rochester, Minnesota, after falling in her home eight days earlier. Rose was born on June 7, 1928, in Antigo, the daughter of the late Percy Gardner Sr. and Theresa (Suess) Gardner who resided at 334 Deresch St.

Frederick A. Turrittin
Frederick A. Turrittin, 82, of Cecil, found peace on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, following a brief illness. He was born June 17, 1939, in Milwaukee to the late Lloyd and Margaret (Priebe) Turrittin. Fred was a 1957 graduate of Custer High School in Milwaukee. He married Judith Glime on April 20, 1968, in Milwaukee. Fred was a service technician for Canteen Vending for his whole working career, retiring in 2002.

Sharon J. Moericke
Sharon Jean Moericke, 80, of Crandon, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Sharon was born July 26, 1941, the daughter of Edward and Alvina (Friedl) Burk. She was united in marriage to Robert Moericke, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 2010. Sharon loved to go to the Log Cabin every day and chat with her friends and harass the staff. She was like family there.
