A waiver preliminary hearing was held for Decarlo L. Denny, 26, Oconto, on one misdemeanor charge and felony charges of burglary of a building or dwelling (repeater) and theft of movable property (repeater), which allegedly occurred April 23, 2012, in Oconto. The court set a $5,000 signature bond. An arraignment is scheduled Feb. 12.

ST Paper recently donated $5,000 to the Oconto Area Humane Society to provide the materials needed to replace its outdoor kennels.
The kennels, which had been in place since the shelter opened in 2005, had become worn. Despite frequent repairs, dogs were injuring themselves on the loose edges of the chainlink fence.
The kennels are a necessary part of shelter operations.
Thanks to the public’s response to pleas for help, the Oconto Area Humane Society won’t close its shelter’s doors anytime soon.
While efforts to find sustaining donors have come up short, according to society officials, enough money has come in to enable the shelter to function well into 2015.

The Cottages at MeadowLands Memory Care will hold a grand opening ceremony from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, in Oconto Falls.
