Imig, Meyer to attend Badger Boys State

The Doney-DeGrave American Legion Post 342 will sponsor Keegan Imig’s weeklong session at Badger Boys State in June. Imig, son of Chuck and Kerri Imig, is a junior at Lena High School. He is the treasurer of the Class of 2016 and a member of the National Honor Society, Hi-Q team and the L-Club. He competes on the football and golf teams and plans to pursue a career in engineering. He said he was honored to be selected to represent Lena High School at Badger Boys State. “I hope to learn more leadership skills and political information to enhance my character and knowledge. I am also excited to meet more students my own age and building friendships with them,” he said. Balls Beater Run Club will sponsor Matthew Meyer, son of Lynn and Pat Meyer, at Badger Boys State. Meyer is a junior at Lena High School and is active in band, National Honor Society, FFA, Science Club and the L-Club. He competes on the the football, wrestling and track teams. Meyer has received an award for perfect attendance from fifth grade to the present. After high school, he plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to study history. He said he expects Badger State will be a “fun time, a great learning experience and an unforgettable experience.” He’s looking forward to making new friends while learning leadership skills and improving his ability to work with others.
