Raymond E. Nicholaus
Raymond E. Nicholaus, 90, of Wyndemere Estates in Green Bay, formerly of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Jan. 26, 2015, in Green Bay. Raymond was born on March 29, 1924, in Bonduel, the son of the late Emil and Anna (Heling) Nicholaus. On June 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Irene Werbelow at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano.
Man allegedly stole truck to help friend
A Pulaski man is facing a felony auto theft charge for allegedly stealing a vehicle to help pull his friend out of a ditch. Jacob B. Vandreel, 20, is accused of taking a Chevy pickup truck from the Green Valley Service Center on Nov. 29. According to the criminal complaint, the incident started shortly before 2 a.m.
Shawano band wins title at Purdue festival
Shawano Community High School’s second-ever trip to the Purdue University Jazz Festival in Lafayette, Indiana, was a success. Shawano Jazz I won its site in the Purdue small-school division, outscoring 11 bands from four states. The Shawano bands were Wisconsin’s only representative in the 100-band festival held from Jan.
Bonduel loses battle for 1st place

St. Clare to host salad luncheon, ‘love’ auction
The Oconto Falls-area community is invited to the annual Salad Luncheon and Love Basket Silent Auction, hosted by the HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and employees of HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 12, at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital.
