Earl Roy Reinhold, 88, Anderson, Calif., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 6, 2014. He was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Underhill to the late Edward and Natalie (Ratz) Reinhold. On July 11, 1953, Earl married Lucinda Loretta Reinhold; they celebrated 61 years of marriage. Earl worked at Graetz Mfg. as a welder and also farmed until retiring and settling in Anderson, Calif.

Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch will be the keynote speaker at the Northeast Wisconsin Small Business Expo, a first-time event intended to support and grow small businesses in the area. Kleefisch will tell about the various programs Wisconsin offers to help small businesses succeed. Other featured speakers are Kevin Kuhlman and Bill Koehne.

At 7:07 a.m. April 4 in the town of Oconto, a woman from Oconto was driving eastbound on Airport Road, near Morning Retreat Road, when her vehicle skidded on an icy roadway, slid to the right side of the road and overturned on a snow bank. Her vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed. The driver sustained possible injuries. At 8:15 a.m.

Proceedings for April 11 A preliminary hearing was held for Daniel B. Schuettpelz, 34, Sobieski, on charges of operating while intoxicated, fifth or sixth offense and operating with prohibited alcohol concentration, fifth or sixth offence, which allegedly occurred Jan. 15 in Little Suamico. A cash bond of $2,000 continues. An arraignment is scheduled April 28. An adjourned initial appearance was held for Kyle L. Davis, 27, Mountain.

At 4:26 p.m. on March 31, a vehicle driven by an Oconto Falls woman, 54, failed to yield at the intersection of Cherry Avenue and Highland Drive and struck a vehicle driven by an Abrams woman, 46. The Abrams woman suffered a possible injury. The Oconto Falls vehicle sustained severe damage, and the woman was cited for failure to yield.

The Oconto Falls Lions last week were granted permission to develop their plan to record and broadcast online a view of the Oconto River. Oconto County will participate in a statewide tornado drill on Thursday, April 24, as part of Wisconsin’s Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week. The peak tornado season in Wisconsin is April to August, but tornadoes can occur any time of year. Wisconsin averages 23 tornadoes annually. The National Weather Service will issue a statewide mock tornado watch at 1 p.m. April 24 and a mock tornado warning at 1:45 p.m.

A snowmobile and ATV club in Gillett will build a storage facility on property donated by the city of Gillett. The Gillett Sno-Riders club plans to construct a 48- by 60-foot facility to store its ATV and snowmobile trail equipment on a 70- by 200-foot parcel just off Railroad Street at Zippel Park. The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest has received $207,983 of Title II funds through the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act.
