Dolores Ruby Larsen, 89, Oconto Falls, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Dolores was born on July 18, 1924, in Oconto Falls to the late Oliver and Louise (Pipgrass) Framness. She graduated from Gillett High School and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a degree in upper elementary education.

Calvin J. Kadlec, 79, Lena, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2014. He was born Feb. 6, 1935, in the town of Spruce, to the late Adolph and Carrie (Teteak) Kadlec. On Oct. 28, 1994, Calvin married Karen Melendes at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, Hickory.

The Oconto Falls School Board on Wednesday adopted an employee handbook for the district’s teachers and support staff, ending its tradition of contract negotiations with employee unions. The 2014-15 school year will be the first to be governed by handbooks. The Oconto Falls School District stuck with union contracts longer than most employers following Act 10, enacted in 2011 in Wisconsin.
