Two Oconto Falls American Legion baseball players participated in the Fox River Valley All-Star game Saturday at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton. Jared Siefert pocketed an extra $900 Saturday by virtue of winning “the challenge” in the IMCA Modified feature at the historic Shawano Speedway half mile on Autism Awareness Night. Siefert was the first IMCA Modified driver to win the challenge, in which a driver opts to start in last place. James Edward Wolfarth, 62, of Shawano, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, in Madison. He was born on April 6, 1952, in Whittier, California, to Kathryn (Ohrwall) Wolfarth and the late Edward Wolfarth. On Aug. 27, 1976, he was united in marriage to Patsy Pennington. James enjoyed boating, motorcycles and playing poker.

Dr. Lawrence Ferdinand Heise passed away Aug. 10, 2014. He was a general practitioner for 50 years in the communities of Tigerton and Clintonville, and Hardy, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister and daughter Gretchen. Survivors include his wife, Frances; four daughters and their spouses; and 37 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tigerton at 11 a.m.

Thomas G. Hansen, 62, of Cecil, formerly of Racine, passed away on Aug. 9, 2014. Born on Nov. 13, 1951, in Franksville, he was the son of the late Quinten and Georgia (Rhode) Hansen. Thomas spent most of his life working in the Racine area and moved to the Cecil area upon retirement. Tom loved nature and enjoyed feeding the birds.

Anna M. Cherny, 29, of Angelica, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Born on Oct. 24, 1984, in Green Bay, she was the daughter of Richard J. and Kathleen (Hollingsworth) McClure. Anna graduated from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in 2005 with a degree in nursing. She worked for ThedaCare as a traveling registered nurse. On Sept. 3, 2010, Anna was united in marriage to Jon R. Cherny.
