Thirteen Menominee Indian High School seniors will be prepping for college in a new way this fall. The 4x4 pilot program is a partnership between the Menominee Indian School District and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. James R. Sell, 80, of Gresham, formerly of Kaukauna, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014. Born on Jan. 30, 1934, in Appleton, he was the son of the late Harry and Sophie (Rusch) Sell. Jim married Sharon on Feb, 7, 1976. Jim was a member of St. John Lutheran Church-Hermansfort. Jim was the owner/operator of Sell Tree Transplant in the Fox Valley and worked for the Fox River Mall as grounds supervisor for many years.

Arthur “Art” A. Meisner, 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Cecil on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014. Surrounded by family, he relinquished the earthly life fraught with pain to accept his new and everlasting life. Art was born in Green Bay on Sept. 22, 1937, to the late Arthur R. and Emma (nee Beilfuss) Meisner. Art and his parents moved from the town of Lessor to Cecil in 1941.

Nice weather brought people out in droves Saturday to take part in the 36th annual Shawano Folk Music Festival at Mielke Park. Becky Van Buren, one of the co-directors, noted that the parking lot was already packed with people when the festival opened at 10 a.m., and it was completely full 45 minutes later.
