John S. Emerson, ­89, of Shawano, passed away at The Cottages under the loving care of the Memory Unit staff and Heartland Hospice on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015. John was born on Nov. 27, 1925, in Richmond, California, to Lawrence and Myrtle (Olsen) Emerson. John spent his youth on a family farm in northern Wisconsin with his siblings — four sisters and one brother.

Michael “Mike” Pawlak, 98, of Gillett, died on Feb. 5, 2015. He was born on July 21, 1916, in the town of Spruce to the late Stanley and Josephine (Klimczak) Pawlak. Mike was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Gillett and Knights of Columbus. He met his wife, Carol Alberts, and they were united in marriage on Feb. 19, 1944, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on Sept.

To the editor: On behalf of Shawano Community High School, I would like to thank the Shawano Athletic Booster Club for their support of Shawano athletics. Since its inception, the booster club has provided support to all Shawano sports programs, having donated over $500,000 to Shawano athletics. Shawano Police Department Feb. 5 Police logged 19 incidents, including the following: Warrant — A 42-year-old man was taken into custody on a warrant in the 100 block of South Main Street. Shawano County authorities Thursday arrested a 32-year-old Green Bay man in the latest computer sex sting operation here. The man was arrested in Wescott about 7 p.m. after setting up a meeting with what he believed would be a 15-year-old girl. He was instead greeted by Shawano County sheriff’s deputies.
