Both the Shawano Community High School boys and girls track and field teams had members advance from the WIAA Division 1 regional at Bay Port on Tuesday. Daniel Boivin won the pole vault (14 feet, 6 inches) and finished second in the 300 hurdles (42.0 seconds) to advance in both events.

William J. Oldenburg Sr. passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 20, 2015, at the age of 73. He is retired from Xerox. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Diana, and his children, Michael (Bev) Oldenburg, Jennifer (Stanley) Orgas, James Oldenburg and William Oldenburg Jr. He is further survived by four grandsons, two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. Per William’s request, no formal services were held.

Justin A. Dequaine, 18, Abrams, died Thursday afternoon, May 21, 2015. He was born July 28, 1996, in Shawano to Andy and Stacy (Johnson) Dequaine. Justin lived with his family in Oconto Falls before moving with them to Abrams at the age of 3 years old.

James “Jimmy” Johnson, 90, Oconto Falls, died early Saturday morning, May 23, 2015, at Sharpe Care. He was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Stiles to John D. and Mary (Kinziger) Johnson. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, Jimmy enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during Word War II and the Korean War. On Oct. 9, 1954, he married Phyllis Plain at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. Jimmy lived in Oconto Falls for most of his life.

Joseph Porter, 94, Oconto Falls, died early Monday morning, May 25, 2015, following a short stay at Sharpe Care. He was born April 8, 1921, in Green Bay. Joseph attended grade and high schools in Oconto Falls and then State Teacher’s College in Oshkosh. On Sept. 22, 1941, he married Rachel Carroll at St.
