Sam Falck finished 21st for the 13th-place Bonduel High School boys cross-country team Saturday at the WIAA State Cross-Country Championships at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids. Senior Mallory Mews finished 81st for Bonduel in the girls meet. Darlington won the boys meet, followed by Chequamegon. “I thought we had a shot at 12th,” Bonduel coach James Watry said. “It was a little tougher this year.

The Bowler/Gresham high school football team gave up three touchdowns in the fourth quarter in a 47-46 loss to Oakfield in the WIAA eight-player jamboree Saturday at D.C. Everest’s Stiehm Stadium. After building a 46-26 lead through three quarters, the Cats (6-4) fumbled the ball away three times in the final period. “We had too many turnovers at the end and you can’t do that,” Bowler/Gresham coach Ralph Smith said.

Elaine E. Priem, 92, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, Nov. 4, 2013, at the Cottages in Shawano. Elaine was born March 27, 1921, in Birnamwood, a daughter of the late Donald and Viola (Theis) Hicks. On April 10, 1939, she was united in marriage to Clarence Priem at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano.

Lucille May Schwietzer, 96, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Birch Hill Care Center with Sally and Bonnie at her side. Born on July 30, 1917, in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Vida (Tilson) Teuke. As a child, Lucille and her family lived in Marshfield, where she attended school.

William “Bill” H. Krauss, 81, town of Almon, Shawano County, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born on Feb. 18, 1932, in Monroe County, Mich., the son of the late Glenn and Dana (Hosack) Krauss. Bill was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War. On April 19, 1952, he was united in marriage to Betty Jaeger in Milwaukee. She survives.

Helen A. Sullivan (nee Peterson) passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the age of 88. Wife of the late Francis (Lee) Sullivan. Mother of Michael and her beloved dogs, Toby (Fritz) and the late Frosty (Lil’ Sweetie). Daughter of the late Lynn and Margaret Peterson. Sister of the late Jean Gray, William Peterson and Mary Peterson.

Roger R. Meyers, 90, of Clintonville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013. Born on Sept. 30, 1923, in Waupaca County, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Esther (Zimmerman) Meyers. In 1945 Roger enlisted with the United States Army and proudly served his country for two years during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he moved to the Milwaukee area, where he worked as a press operator in a steel mill.

Glenn Kloes, of Antigo, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 77 years old. He was born on Feb. 6, 1936, in Three Lakes, a son of the late Gustav and Lucille (Spankuch) Kloes. He married Alice Seis on Sept. 2, 1961, at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. She survives. He attended Lakewood Grade School and was a graduate of Arbor Vitae-Woodruff High School. Mr. Kloes joined the National Guard in 1957.
