Appeals court upholds Tullberg conviction

A state appeals court Tuesday upheld a Wittenberg man’s convictions, concluding a Shawano County Sheriff’s Department deputy didn’t violate Michael R. Tullberg’s constitutional rights by requesting a blood draw without a warrant. Tullberg, 29, was sentenced in May 2011 to nearly 20 years in prison in connection with a July 2009 rollover accident in which Matthew J.
Board OKs basement storage plan
The issue was beat to death, but ultimately the Shawano County Board approved, by a 17-10 vote, a plan to spend $42,100 to convert vacant courthouse basement space into offices for the Sheriff’s Department and storage of about 40 computers seized as evidence. Some supervisors criticized the measure and recommended it be postponed for a month to clear up a number of issues.
Clintonville considers upgrades to outdoor pool
The Clintonville Park and Recreation Commission has instructed director Justin McAuly to get cost estimates for renovating the city’s outdoor swimming pool. McAuly told the commission this week that usage at the outdoor pool has increased this summer. Revenue for the past two weeks was $6,080.66, with more than 100 people using the pool each day.
Taylor snubs Shawano job offer
Four days before he was expected to start, Shawano’s newly hired director of public works informed city officials Tuesday he wouldn’t be taking the job after all. Kent Taylor, who was operations manager at the Green Bay Water Utility, will instead start a new job in Neenah on Friday as that city’s water utility director.
