A 22-year-old man was found dead early Friday morning of an apparent hit-and-run on County Road M at the state Highway 29 overpass in Shawano. Timothy J. Meade, of Stephenson, Mich., was found in the eastbound lane of traffic on County Road M at 2:30 a.m.

The latest Box in the Wood Theatre Guild production, the Cole Porter musical “Anything Goes,” has signs of deja vu and passing the torch to the next generation. A black bear was spotted in downtown Clintonville early Thursday and reportedly damaged a storefront before making its way out of town. Clintonville police received two calls about the bear shortly before 3:30 a.m. The initial report was that the bear was spotted on the sidewalk in front of the First State Bank about 20 minutes before police were called. A second caller reported the bear crashed through a glass storefront door at D.

George A. Grill Sr., 95, Birnamwood, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at North Central Healthcare, Wausau. He was born on March 1, 1918, in the Township of Aniwa, the son of the late Joseph and Regina (Mancosky) Grill. On July 4, 1956, George was united in marriage to Eileen Maguire at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. She preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 1999.
