Hawks shut out Seymour The Shawano Community High School soccer team improved to 3-0 in the Bay Conference with a 1-0 shutout of Seymour Thursday in Shawano. Garret Schlise, a senior forward, had the match’s only goal, breaking the 0-0 tie in the 71st minute. Shawano goalie Mike Meisner had four saves. Shawano (6-1-1, 3-0 Bay) continues Bay Conference play Tuesday with a game at Denmark (0-7, 0-3 Bay) Tuesday. Shawano ties for 7th Finishing tied for seventh, the Shawano Community High School girls golf team shot a 220 Thursday at a Bay Conference match at Mid Vallee Golf Course in Lawrence. The Hawks tied with Oconto Falls (220). Marinette (176) won. Courtney Baumann led Shawano, shooting a 50. Megan Beck shot a 51, Julia Beck 56, Emily Smith 63, Cheyenne Knueppel 70. Gresham swept by Tri-County The Gresham High School volleyball team was swept 3-0 by Tri-County on the road Thursday. The Wildcats lost 25-15, 25-12, 25-18. Nande Carroll had six assists and six points for Gresham (0-2). Nicole Crepeau had nine digs. Tigerton defeated by Wild Rose The Tigerton High School volleyball team fell to Wild Rose 3-1 Thursday in Tigerton. Tigerton (1-1) lost the first game, 25-18, to Wild Rose (1-1). The Tigers won the second, 25-22, and lost the last two 25-18, 25-20. Erin Robbins had 14 assists and nine digs for Tigerton. Payton Bailey, Katie Watters and Sarah Gauthier each had four kills. Gauthier also had eight digs. Emily Wendt had 10 digs. Port Edwards beats Marion The Marion High School volleyball team lost 3-1 Tuesday in Port Edwards. Marion won the first game 25-21, then lost the next three 25-18, 25-12, 25-14. Bryce Miller had 21 digs and eight points for Marion (0-2). Mackenzie Thoma had five kills, six points, four blocks and 15 digs. Jessica Reminger had seven points, 12 assists and three blocks. Clintonville goes 5 with Ripon The Clintonville High School volleyball team went five games before losing to Ripon 3-2 Thursday in Clintonville. Ripon (2-0) won the first two games 25-11, 25-15. Clintonville (0-1) won the next two, 27-25, 25-22, before dropping the final game 16-14. Lynnea Johnson had 18 assists for Clintonville. Amber Krueger and Autumn Voigt had six kills each. Voigt also had two blocks. Chrissy Betz had five kills and four aces. Chargers sweep Shiocton The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School volleyball team won 3-0 against Shiocton on Thursday in Wittenberg. Wittenberg-Birnamwood (2-0) swept Shiocton (0-1) 25-10, 25-12, 25-22. Taylor Bushman had 11 kills and nine digs for the Chargers. Micah Nier had five kills and three aces. Taylor Nier had five kills. Hannah Buntrock had five kills and two aces. Madi Bushman had 26 aces. Rosholt beats Bowler The Bowler High School volleyball team lost in three games to Rosholt on Thursday night in Rosholt. Bowler (0-1) lost the first game 25-18 to Rosholt (2-0), then lost 25-15 and 25-9.
