Gillett campground slow to develop

“Slow” is the word to describe the development of Gillett’s new campground. “It’s going slower than I wanted it to,” said Rick Raatz, chairman of the Community Development Authority subcommittee in charge of the project. Hopes were scuttled that Nicolet Trail Campground would open before the prime camping week of the Fourth of July, but Raatz remained optimistic the 20-site campground will be ready in a few weeks. Rebirth proposed at ex-Oconto hospital

Arthur “Art” Koslowsky
Arthur “Art” C. Koslowsky, 88, of Lena, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at home with his loving family at his side. He was born to the late Charles and Tillie (Kershek) Koslowsky, Sept. 22, 1924, in the town of Lena. Art graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1942. He married Marie Levash on Sept. 29, 1945.

Abrams actors performing in ‘Anything Goes’
Eight actors with ties to Abrams are jumping county lines to perform in the Box in the Wood Theatre Guild’s latest show, “Anything Goes.” Long viewed as a popular show for school and community productions, the musical will debut July 18 at the Mielke Arts Center in Shawano.

Panel proposes dropping referendum requirement

Spruce owes Chicago attorney for records expenses
The town of Spruce will have to pay legal costs to a Chicago attorney looking into the operation of the Holt Park campground, located on Kelly Lake’s west shore. The District III Court of Appeals last week overturned a ruling by Oconto County Circuit Judge Jay Conley that the town had provided enough of the town records requested by attorney James Webster, who has a summer residence on Kelly Lake, and that he was not entitled to reimbursement for

Falls squanders lead, game against De Pere

Steve Jon Hammer
Steve Jon Hammer, 49, Green Bay, passed away suddenly due to a heart related condition Tuesday, July 2, 2013. He was born Oct. 6, 1963, to Robert and Catherine (Schweers) Hammer. Steve graduated from Preble High School in 1982 and later from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. On Sept. 17, 1988, he married Chantal Gull at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawano. Steve worked alongside of his father and brother in the family business, E.C.
