Robert Heckl, 56, Suring, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. He was born Feb. 7, 1957, to the late Robert and Wedad (Kouri) Heckl. Bob married Rose Boerschinger on May 7, 1977, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring.
He enjoyed golfing and bowling, and many of his friends would remember him as an ambidextrous bowler.
Bob could comfort any screaming baby with his belly, but he wouldn’t change their diaper. He always offered anyone and everyone something to eat, so they never left hungry, and he was known for his famous “Heckl Breakfast.”
Robert is survived by his wife, Rose, of Suring; three children, Bobbie Jo (significant other, Raymond A. Sunderlage) Heckl, of Suring, Steven (Michelle) Heckl, of Suring, and Lisa (Eric) Anderson, of Gillett; two brothers, Phillip (Ericka) Heckl, of Suring, and William (Julia) Heckl, of Suring; five grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Sydney, Taylor, Drake; seven sisters-in-law, Marie (William) Funderburg, Ann (Steve) Bayard, Joan Boerschinger, Marge (James) Knapp, Susan (Walter) Hopkins Louise (Nicholas) Marquardt and Barbara (Robert) Payette; and brother-in-law, Mathew (Victoria) Boerschinger. Bob is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 12 p.m. until the memorial Mass at 2 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. David Barrett officiating.
