Deadline set for police chief applications

The Shawano Police and Fire Commission on Tuesday set March 21 as the cut-off date for accepting police chief applications. Ed Whealon will retire from the job on April 4 after more than 34 years with the city and 37 years in law enforcement. The commission voted to direct City Administrator Brian Knapp to advertise the position and take applications. Students in Lynn Schaal’s seventh-grade math class at Bonduel Middle School can pretty much be counted on to always get their homework done. That’s because they’re doing it in the classroom with Schaal right there in front of them and available to help if they get stuck. Wildcats claw Tigers in tourney opener The second-seeded Gresham Community High School boys basketball team beat No. 7 Tigerton 69-30 to open the WIAA Division 5 regional tournament Tuesday in Gresham. Marion girls get top seed
The Marion High School girls basketball team received a No. 1 seed in the WIAA regional tournament brackets released Sunday. The Bonduel High School girls basketball team pulled even with Wittenberg-Birnamwood in the Central Wisconsin Conference-8 title race Saturday with a key victory over Amherst. Bonduel's Tauchen continues family tradition
When Bonduel High School junior Dan Tauchen won the 152-pound championship at the WIAA Division 3 wrestling sectional Saturday in Shawano, it was his first tournament championship ever, but part of a much longer tradition. The eighth-seeded Bonduel High School boys basketball team rallied from a slow start to beat No. 9 Menominee Indian 63-46 Tuesday to open the WIAA Division 4 regional tournament.
