Shawano Police Department Sept. 29 Police logged 30 incidents, including the following: Disturbance — A charge of battery was referred against a 28-year-old Wittenberg man after police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of South Union Street.

Russell M. Robbins, 94, of the town of Wescott, Shawano, passed away at his home on Sunday morning, Sept. 28, 2014. Russell was born at home in Shawano on April 23, 1920, a son of the late Herbert and Olga (Scheil) Robbins. He attended the Shawano schools, graduating from Shawano High School with the Class of 1938. On Aug. 16, 1941, he was united in marriage to the former Shirley Draper, and the couple made their home in Shawano.

Judith Ann (Reichel) Zander, 75, formerly of Zumbrota, Minnesota, passed away on Sept. 28, 2014, at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester, Minnesota. Judy was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Shawano, to the late Harold and Henrietta Reichel. She grew up in Shawano and graduated from high school there in 1957. Judy subsequently graduated from the Deaconess School of Nursing in Milwaukee in 1959. She married Richard Zander at St.

John Lillard Sitton, 60, of Pulaski, died peacefully at home on Sept. 27, 2014, after a short battle with cancer. John graduated from Downers Grove High School South in Illinois and was a longtime resident of Wisconsin. He had a love and natural ability for all things mechanical, making him well-suited for working with equipment of all types. John was an employee of O’Harrow’s Farm Service for many years.

Karen L. Carroll, 53, of Shawano, passed away on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at her home. Karen was born on March 2, 1961, in Milwaukee to James Matz and Mary Anderson. After graduation, Karen moved to Shawano. She loved sewing, flower gardening and was a Packers fan.

Evelyn “Cookie” LeRoy, 69, passed away on Sept. 27, 2014, after a long battle due to an accident on Aug. 9, 2007, that changed the course of her life, leaving her in a quadriplegic state. Cookie was born in Keshena and raised on her Grandma and Grandpa LeRoy’s homestead. She graduated from Gresham High School and then the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, receiving both her bachelors and masters’ degrees there.

VOLLEYBALL Gresham 3 Marion 1 Gresham earned its first Central Wisconsin Conference-10 win of the season Tuesday at Marion, 25-14, 19-25, 25-14, 25-7. Tatelyn Ferguson had 23 points and 10 aces for Gresham (1-6 CWC-8). Sydney Jensen had 15 kills. Nicole Creapeau had nine kills. Taylor Hoffman had 24 assist. Courtney Schricker led Marion (0-7 CWC-8) with five kills and 18 digs. Lexi Brown had nine points, seven assists and nine digs.

Bonduel High School senior hitter Jen Dowden was dominant in the middle, sophomores Danee Collier and Kailee Pedersen provided a spark serving, and the Bears got a key 3-0 sweep Tuesday against Central Wisconsin Conference-8 foe Shiocton in Bonduel. Heading into the game, Bonduel (4-2 CWC-8) was knotted in a four-way tie with Wittenberg-Birnamwood, Iola-Scandinavia and Stevens Point Pacelli for second place in the CWC-8 behind Weyauwega-Fremont.
