Man arrested on sex charge in Wescott

Authorities on Wednesday arrested a 21-year-old Weston man accused of coming to Wescott for a sexual rendezvous with what he believed would be a 15-year-old girl. Board approves employee handbook
Shawano County finally has a revised employee and administrative handbook, more than two and a half years after the state enacted Act 10, which stripped most collective bargaining rights from the public employee unions. The County Board voted 15-9 Wednesday, with three supervisors absent, to adopt the handbook. The board had rejected the first revision with a 13-13 vote in September.

Daniel Terkel
Daniel Terkel, 88, of Shawano, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, Dec. 14, 2013, at ManorCare of Shawano, where he had been a resident for the past 2 1/2 years. Dan was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Milwaukee, a son of the late Allen and Florence (Lauer) Terkel. In 1943, he entered the United States Army and served during World War II as a tank driver. He served in the European African Theatre of action.
