Northern options considered for shooting range
County forest land in the towns of Breed, Bagley and Brazeau will be considered as possible sites for an Oconto County shooting range. The Forest, Parks and Recreation Committee decided on Wednesday to look at alternate sites for a range, due to safety concerns expressed by neighbors of the Machickanee Forest Shooting Range in Morgan.

County to enter design phase of law enforcement center
A Madison firm is first in line to design a law enforcement center for Oconto County. The Law Enforcement/Judiciary and Public Property committees on Wednesday selected Potter Lawson as its top choice, over Venture Architects, of Milwaukee. The committees interviewed both firms last month and will recommend the county sign a contract with Potter Lawson. The County Board is scheduled to act on the committee’s recommendation June 19. The house that students built
A team of Oconto Falls High School students on Thursday unveiled a duplex they helped construct over the past 10 months. The first tenants at 582-584 King St. will be settled in by July 1. “I think it’s cool,” student Kyle Sharboneau said. “We built a house!” Students, working with local contractors, were involved in every aspect of construction.

4 charged with manufacturing meth
Four people face drug charges after allegedly cooking methamphetamine in the back bedroom of an Oconto Falls trailer house. According to a criminal complaint, meth was made most recently on May 27, hours before a search warrant executed at 8 a.m. May 28 uncovered packaged meth, supplies used for manufacturing the drug, and drug paraphernalia. County sets price for Little River parcel
Land purchased by Oconto County in 1999 for a law enforcement center in Little River will be sold through a tax deed sale. The Law Enforcement/Judiciary Committee on Wednesday set the starting bid at $32,000 for the 14.6-acre parcel on County Road S, located about one mile from the courthouse.
