Police investigating 3 burglary reports
Shawano police are investigating a quick succession of residential burglaries reported Thursday morning. The first was reported at 4:19 a.m. in the 800 block of East Richmond. A computer was reported stolen in that incident. Another burglary was reported at 5:38 a.m. in the 600 block of East Maurer Street, followed by a third reported at 7:14 a.m.
Clintonville outdoor pool ready for season
Cracks in the well of the diving pool have been filled and sealed, and the outdoor swimming pool in Buchholtz Park in Clintonville is expected to open Saturday. Crash leads to arrest for 7th-offense OWI
Shawano police responding to a two-vehicle crash Wednesday arrested a Crandon man on a charge of seventh-offense operating while intoxicated, making it the city’s third multiple-offense drunken driving case in five days. Lee White, 55, could face a maximum 10 years in prison and $25,000 fine if convicted. Lois J. Smith
Lois Joyce (Pashouwer) Smith, 81, of Shawano, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Monday, June 23, 2014, at Shawano Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 20, 1933, daughter of the late Lionel and Joyce (Gallagher) Hodgins. On April 24, 1951, Lois married Harvey Pashouwer, who preceded her in death on May 6, 2014. On Nov. 3, 1978, she was united in marriage to Howard Smith Jr. at West Side Moravian Church, Green Bay.
Patricia J. Schrank
Patricia Joanne Schrank, 82, of Shawano, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her bedside on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at The Cottages in Shawano. Born on Aug. 29, 1931, in Rozell, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Sophia (Seltmann) Murphy. Patricia grew up and graduated high school in Kansas. In May 1951 she married Ralph West, and the couple moved to the Shawano area in 1966.
Golda V. Wunrow
Golda V. Wunrow, 67, of Cecil, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at her home with her husband at her side. Golda was born on Oct. 12, 1946, to Edna (Jones) and V. C. Phillips in Wetumka, Oklahoma. On April 16, 1966, she married Roman Wunrow. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She loved living on the lake.
Myrtle D. Koeller
Myrtle D. Koeller, 91, of the town of Richmond, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at a local nursing home. Born on July 4, 1922, in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Alma (Huebner) Berndt. On Aug. 22, 1942, Myrtle was united in marriage to Clarence M. Koeller. The couple farmed in the town of Richmond until Clarence’s death on Oct. 21, 2001. Myrtle was an active member of the St.
