The Clintonville Police Department received a report of a full-grown black bear sighting near Clintonville Middle School at 8:41 a.m. Saturday. Clintonville officers and a State Patrol trooper monitored the bear as it made its way through the community. The bear was last seen at 3:45 p.m.

A Gillett woman accused of robbing a Main Street grocery store at knifepoint Friday made a quick change as part of her attempted getaway, but was spotted dumping her clothes into the garbage, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday. Brenda S. Webster, 56, could face a maximum 40 years in prison and $100,000 fine if found guilty of armed robbery. Webster allegedly entered the Guerrero Grocery, 520 S. Main St., shortly before 6 p.m.

Barbara Cramer, 84, of Shawano, passed away on June 29, 2014, at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau after a short battle with cancer. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Nancy Cramer, and grandchildren, Sierra Sparks, Jared Sparks and Travis Sparks. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. July 2 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marathon, with visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Genevieve Alice Hein, 83, of Gillett, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at her home at Bass Lake surrounded by her family. She was born on Oct. 6, 1930, at South Branch, the daughter of the late Mathias and Genevieve (Pecore) Otradovec. On Sept. 13, 1952, Genevieve married Ruben Hein at St. Joseph of the Lake Catholic Church, South Branch. The couple made their home in West De Pere until moving to their Bass Lake home.
